17 and 18 questions

1. What are Karana's thoughts about Rontu when he had left?

2.  Describe what happened when Rontu encountered the other wild dogs.

3.  Karana could have killed the attackers, but she decided not to help Rontu. Why?


4. What did Rontu do after the battle was over? What do you think that action means?

5. Where did Karana get the birds that became her friends?  What did she name them and why?  Why do you think she befriends animals?

6. Describe the clothing that Karana made?  What did she use to make it?  Why do you think she tries to look nice?

7. What were some signs throughout these two chapters that show the seasons were changing?  How did Karana know what season it was?

  1. #1 Karana thought she should have been happy about it but she was not and she was kind of worried because he was her friend and she didn't want to kill him even if he were the enemy she couldn't kill him. So to sum it up she was just worried and wasn't sure what she was thinking kind of.

  2. #5 Karana found a bird in a tree near her house. She named the first bird Tainor after a man that was killed by the Aleuts that Karana liked. The other bird Karana named was Lurai, because she wished she had been called that name instead of Karana. I think she befriends animals because she is lonely and she need someone to talk to and keep her company.

      Karana didn't kill the attackers because they would come back if there was not a winner, luckily it was Rontu who won.

  6. #6 she made a skirt out of yucca fibers that was softened in water.She also made a belt out of seal skin and a pair of sandals from sail skin .

    He was laying in on the grass he rose to his feet and got on the mound he past karana and up the ravine. When karana got to the house he was all ready waiting there.
    The action means he never left again
